Calculating Time Of Infusion
You may use the ratio and proportion method to solve for the amount of time needed to infuse a medication via the IV Push method.
Example Problem: Over what period of time will you administer:
Order: Lasix 80 mg, IV, STAT Medication Available: Lasix 10mg/mL IV infusion not to exceed 40mg/min
40 X = 80 Answer: X = 2 min
